Spader's Tent Camper Warehouse is quite the place to be on a cold winter day.  You start thinking rather seriously about the summer months about to come, being with family and friends around a campfire, taking in the beauty of nature and most of all, feeling warm! 

My visit with the staff there proved to be warm and friendly also.  I met Mark Spader, Jared Reisch and Sue Carlson for a question and picture taking tour to find lots of interesting information there. Spader's has been in business 42 years and opened the Dell Rapids location about 11 years ago. 

Sue has been with the company about 5 years and enjoys helping people find the right solution for them to have fun with their equipment. She likes camping and riding motorcycle in her spare time.  Sue works the sales department with her folks, Bill and Evelyn Huntimer.

Mark has worked with the family business about 5 years and is a real people person.  He loves talking to people to find out how he can best help them.  He likes hunting, fishing and shooting competitions.

Jared is new to the business but has plenty of experience in gunsmithing.  He gains great satisfaction from making something unique out of something old or bits and pieces.  He loves making original works of art and restoring old equipment.  In his off time he also likes to hunt and shoot.

Bill and Evelyn have been with Spader's for about 8 years, helping to lay the foundation of what is there today.  Spader's is owned by Duane Spader and managed by Tony Spader.

We talked about how the company is taking on some new looks with new products and services.  Spader's will be housing a full service gun shop with gunsmithing, gun sales, safes and accessories for  both hunting and camping.  The camping area will continue to sell new and used, tents and campers with parts and accessories for both.

This new venture doesn't have an official name yet but they are planning on doing some remodeling as well as announce their opening this summer. Watch the paper for their ads.

Community minded and motivated in their pursuit of helping build a stronger Dell Rapids, Spader's staff is dedicated to providing the best products and services possible.  The addition of gun products and services will include working in conjunction with the Dell Rapids Sportsmen's Club to provide seminars and clinics for hunters and shooters.  They are interested in bringing out-of-town people who can financially benefit Dells with their business needs and strengthen Dells with the possibility of more families who are looking for a relocation; hopefully choosing our town as their new home.

Spader's is open Monday - Friday, 9:00am till 5:30 pm and Saturdays, 9:00am till 2:00pm for now.  Hours will most likely extend with the starting of the additional gun services and summer season coming up soon.  We will all welcome the warmer weather, I'm sure.
